According to CBS Sports, they are backing Tyrrell Hatton, who is +2200 in the FedEx St Jude odds to win.

Heā€™s been in great form with the ball-striking and putting, and I think heā€™s primed for a breakout win,ā€ says Sia Nejad of CBS Sports.

Premier League Futures

The Premier League kicks off on August 12th. Lots of action in August, huh?

Here are the futures forĀ picking the champion.

Opta Analyst also has picks for the opening weekā€™s matches:

NFL Preseason Storylines

Here are some storylines with potential fantasy and sports betting implications going into the season:

  • 49ers QB Battle:Ā Brock Purdy tore the UCL in his throwing arm during the NFC Championship game last season , an injury that typically knocks a baseball player out for an entire calendar year.

NFL quarterbacks donā€™t put as much strain on their arms as baseball players do, though, so Purdy was expected to miss six months. He has recovered in five and is now a full participant in training camp.

Trey Lance still waits in the wings as the 3rd overall pick from his draft (who broke his ankle last season as well). Will he get a chance to play given the history of injury at the QB position in San Francisco?

Either quarterback is risky for fantasy purposes. And these injuries should be factored into potential sports betting decisions.

  • High profile Running Backs will potentially miss time because of holdouts due to contract disputes.

Josh Jacobs is holding out of Raiders camp in search of a new deal after leading the league in rushing in 2022, Jonathan Taylor has requested a trade from the Colts, Tony Pollard is playing on the franchise tag and several high-profile running backs remain free agents, including Dalvin Cook, Ezekiel Elliott, Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette.

Other backs such as Austin Ekeler, Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey have also publicly condemned the valuation of their position.

  • Aaron Rodgers on the Jets. This should have implications for the Jets and the Packers, the team Aaron left.

Will Jordan Love be able to fill Aaronā€™s shoes? All of this has implications for bettors.

  • Tom Brady retiring and leaving a void in Tampa Bay. Ā A quarterback competition between a former Heisman Trophy-winning No. 1 overall pick in Baker Mayfield and an intriguing developmental project in Kyle Trask.

If this sounds familiar, itā€™s because the Patriots employed a very similar strategy to try and replace Brady in 2020 when they brought in former Heisman Trophy-winning, No. 1 overall pick Cam Newton to compete with intriguing developmental project Jarrett Stidham.

It didnā€™t go well for the Patriots, as they went 7-9 in 2020, their first losing season in 20 years, and they missed the postseason for the first time in 18 years.

Iā€™d expect some major regression in Tampa Bay.

  • Other major hold outs. Not only is Josh Jacobs holding out of Raiders camp, but Nick Bosa, Chris Jones and Zack Martin are also not reporting to camp in search of new deals.

Weā€™ll monitor these for future matchups, as they are integral to their teamā€™s success, and over-under results.

NFL Fantasy Tip

Alright if you read our last letter, you should have a good idea of who to pick first in your fantasy draft. But who are the breakout stars this year in NFL Fantasy?

According to CBS Sports, one of the 2023 Fantasy football breakouts the model is predicting: Vikings running back Ty Chandler. The 2022 fifth-round pick saw his first carries in the final game of the season when starters were rested ahead of the playoffs.

Offensive coordinator Wes Phillips told reporters that Chandler will take on an increased role this year after the team parted ways with Dalvin Cook. Chandler could be the key backup behind Alexander Mattison, who has been banged up during training camp.

Packers tight end Luke Musgrave is also predicted to breakout. Green Bay heads into the season with a pair of rookie tight ends and a new quarterback at the helm. Musgrave is expected to make more of an immediate impact than teammate Tucker Kraft, with Musgrave posting a 4.61 40-yard dash time at the combine.

MLB Matchups

Another day, another slew of MLB games.

Lines are below for August 10. Here are some picks from around the sports betting sphere:

CBS Sports:

After simulating every game on Wednesday 10,000 times, the sportsline model from CBS Sports is high on the Philadelphia Phillies (-125) to beat the Miami Marlins.

Action Network:

  • Braves vs. Pirates:Ā The Pirates shouldn't be such massive underdogs. Take them to +145.

  • Astros vs. Orioles:Ā Take the Astros on the moneyline, and play them to -135

  • Nationals vs. Phillies:Ā Our expert Sean Zerillo makes this total 9.9, while BallParkPal makes it 10.9. Thereā€™s plenty of value on Over 9 across the market.

MLB Clip: Fenway is full of traps.
